NEW MUSIC: Sid Diamond - Bottles ft. PNC & Pieter T

Posted on 11:00 PM by Unknown

Check out Sid Diamond's 'Cohibas & Cuba Libres' track, Bottles featuring PNC and Pieter T over a completely different beat.

The original is replaced by a beat produced by SickDrumz, which seems more fitted to the club anthem. Vocals stay the same, with PNC kicking things off and singer Pieter T on the hook.

"Just so you know I can't afford the penthouse/So you're getting f*cked on the floor at my friends house/Kapesh, If not peace, I knew you wouldn't leave/Especially when these drinks come free," raps Diamond.

NEW MUSIC: Ariana Grande - Problem ft. Iggy Azalea

Posted on 10:28 PM by Unknown

Check out a brand new track from Ariana Grande entitled, Problem featuring Australian rapper Iggy Azalea.

Last weekend, Ariana Grande debuted her new single at the Radio Disney Music Awards, held at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles. The track is an up-tempo, saxophone-saturated dance track. With a little more attitude than we're used to. Vocals are delivered exceptionally as usual, and the addition of Iggy's verse is the icing on the cake.

I like the throwback theme of this track. But still current and pop friendly with her signature hints at R&B and Hip Hop. I hope when they do the visual, they don't sex her up too much. She needs to be that chick Selena Gomez failed to be. A fit between Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus, image wise. Cute girl next door with a hint of sex appeal. Kinda like young Mariah.

Problem serves as the lead single from Ariana's upcoming sophomore album.

Mariah Carey Announces Album Title, Cover, & Release Date!

Posted on 9:40 PM by Unknown

After a lot of speculation surrounding Mariah Carey's long awaited album, we finally get some indication that it's finally on its way. Well, we got more than that, we got a release date.

The 44-year-old superstar diva's upcoming album will be titled Me. I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse, and will drop May 27th.

Below you will find the album cover, as well as a clip from Mariah herself, explaining the significance of the album's title.

I despise this cover. Looks like a well edited screen shot. I've seen her in this mesh swimsuit, in pictures for the past two years so I don't know who they think they're fooling. As for the album title, it's significance is cute. But I can't help but be referred to Beyonce's "I Am Sasha Fierce." Lets hope there's a hit single dropping soon because I doubt this album will sell. Not because of the material, but because of the inconsistency.

NEW VIDEO: J Williams - Broken Love

Posted on 10:15 AM by Unknown

Check out J.Williams' brand new music video for his latest single, Broken Love.

The 27-year-old NZ singer/songwriter releases a very dramatic visual this time 'round for 'Broken Love'. The music video starts off with Williams being stood up for dinner by his girl. We then see him driving through the streets seemingly looking for her, only to find her in the arms of another man.

Williams drives off in rage, at the same time calling her. After a few outbursts, Williams drowns his sorrows as he walks the streets visibly distraught. He eventually is hit by a car. The car being that of his girl, and what we eventually come to know, the other man, his best friend.

A lot of effort was put into this music video. Something I can really appreciate. Well thought out and very well executed. But why was I laughing when J was screaming in that park, LOL! The track itself is a great ballad. Yass for live live music! His vocals are impeccable as usual. All in all a great production.

Good to see artists willing to still put in the time and effort to produce something solid for the fans. Instead of a pretty lit, over-styled mess we're used to seeing as of late.

Get into it!

NEW MUSIC: Keke Palmer - Ride This Beat ft. B.o.B

Posted on 3:00 AM by Unknown

Check out new music from your girl Keke Palmer!

The 20-year-old singer and actress sheds some insight into the process that is with finding a sound. Keke unofficially drops this Bangladesh produced track entitled, Ride This Beat ft. B.o.B. He raps, "She comin' down/Yep, grippin' that wood/She know what to do with the pine/You know what they say."

Not feeling this track at all. With the great news announced recently that Keke will have her own talk show, I think she should leave music alone for a while. This will be too confusing for fans. Especially If she wants to make any kind of sense. I think she needs to concentrate on this talk show and start releasing music when seasons close out. And when she does, I hope she takes a page out of Brandy's early days and make music that's not too...sexual. Her vocals on a song like this is wasted. Just an opinion.

What do you think?

NEW VIDEO: Avril Lavigne - Hello Kitty

Posted on 2:43 AM by Unknown

Avril Lavigne celebrates the Hello Kitty culture in Japan with the release of her latest music video for her single of the same name.

The 29yo singer/songwriter rocks out in the streets of Tokyo with four doll-dressed dancers, as they all attempt some very awkwardly simple choreography. They also celebrate in candy stores, and bright coloured clothing stores, continuingly spreading their love for the highly-profitable ©Sanrio brand.

Avril copped a lot of sh*t for this video. People saying she's being racist and insensitive. I really don't see anything wrong with this video. Avril is HUGE in Japan and I guess this is the way she includes them specifically. It's fun, it's vibrant, and very "kawaii"(cute). Not my kinda song though.

NEW VIDEO: Pharrell Williams - Marilyn Monroe ft. Kelly Osbourne

Posted on 2:13 AM by Unknown

Pharrell has released the visual for his latest single, Marilyn Munroe.

The 41-year-old producer celebrates all women in this music video. The racially-diverse selection of dancers are featured in several, effervescent-themed dance sequences. Pharrell dons his signature Vivienne Westwood hat in fusia, red, and black, with Kelly Osbourne joining him on a L.A. rooftop for her feature. "In honour of the groove, and to all who surrender to it, we say thank you. And we take it back!" Kelly says as she stomps her way through the dancers.

Great video. He definitely sold the song with this visual. I'm not sure about the single choice, but after all the unnecessary controversy his album cover made, I'm sure his reasons for picking this song was to silence all critics.

VIDEO: John Mayer Covers Beyonce's 'XO' In Australia - WATCH!

Posted on 7:02 PM by Unknown

Playing a few shows in Australia is John Mayer who recently covered Beyonce's XO during his concert in the city of Adelaide.

The 36-year-old singer/songwriter took to the stage at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre and performed his rendition of Beyonce's XO to the 12,000 heavy crowd. Armed with a harmonica, a guitar and his mic, Mayer belted out an acoustic version of the pop hit.

I liked it! His sultry and soulful approach certainly makes for easy listening.

I'm sure Beyonce would approve. Do you?

NEW MUSIC: Iggy Azalea - Black Widow ft. Rita Ora

Posted on 4:54 PM by Unknown

Iggy Azalea recruits Rita Ora for this new track which has surfaced online entitled, Black Widow.

The 23-year-old Australian rapper spits fire against a ex who did her dirty, while Rita smooths things over on the hook.

Iggy shares on how the track came about:

I met Katy Perry and she gave me “Black Widow,” which she wrote the hook to, and that didn’t even exist until after the EMAs in Europe last fall. The way that it is now, it only got to be like that at the end of January.

That quote explains why this sounds like Katy Perry's Dark Horse. Not a bad track nonetheless.

Black Widow is lifted from Iggy Azalea's upcoming LP, The New Classic due April 22.

NEW MUSIC: Teyana Taylor - Sorry

Posted on 4:03 PM by Unknown

Check out this new song from Teyana Taylor entitled, Sorry. Listen below!

23-year-old G.O.O.D. music artist Teyana Taylor finally drops some insight into her upcoming debut project. The track entitled Sorry is a raw, emotional R&B ballad where she pours her heart out about a man that didn't know how to love.

I'm sorry you didn't know how to love me/I'm sorry I wasn't beautiful to you/I'm sorry you just didn't understand how to be my man...

Teyana is very talented, that we already know. I don't know If this is just another false alarm. We have still yet to see anything contestant from the young artist, but that doesn't put me off this track. Sorry is amazing. An honest, emotional ballad sure to tug at your heart-strings. I love the subtle approach to the vocals, not a wasted ad-lib or riff insight. I really hope that this time her set up is completely ready because Lord knows we've BEEN ready.

Lorde Covers Teen Vogue, Talks Fashion, Social Networks, & Hilary Duff!

Posted on 6:39 AM by Unknown

Check out our girl Lorde on the cover of the latest issue of Teen Vogue.

The 17-year-old singer/songwriter continues her world takeover with the cover of Teen Vogue's May Issue, just days after her 12 nominations were announced for the 2014 Billboard Awards. For the full list of finalists click HERE.

Check below for some experts from Lorde's Teen Vogue interview:

On Hilary Duff being at her recent concert: “Hilary Duff? Are you freaking serious? Hilary Duff was there last night? This is what dreams are made of! Was she vibing it? Was she bobbing her head?”

On her fashion style: “There are a lot of expectations in this industry about looking a certain way and having a certain kind of appeal. I am feminine, but I really love dressing in boys’ clothes too. I guess that’s why I get labeled as ‘the grumpy girl,’ because I don’t play into that.”

On social networking: “I like Twitter because it’s a good direct link to people. You just reach out to someone you like and say, ‘Follow me please, and then we can talk.’ I really like Instagram as well. It’s a good one, very simple. I’m also on Facebook and Tumblr.”

On her new life: “Living in New Zealand, you don’t get these experiences. I spent so much time in my room before. My life is so wild right now. For me to be able to do something I really enjoy and for that to get me out in the world—to South America, to here, to London—every day I kick myself, I’m so lucky.”

NEW VIDEO: Keyshia Cole - Next Time (Won’t Give My Heart Away)

Posted on 6:15 AM by Unknown

Check out the brand new music video for Keyshia Cole's song, Next Time (Won’t Give My Heart Away). Watch below!

The 32-year-old singer/songwriter bares all soul and emotion for her latest visual. We watch Keyshia serve face in several classically lit settings for this performance clip. Shots of explosions and roses are intertwined in special effect-edits, seemingly symbolising her different emotions. Directed by Colin Tilley.

This clip is beautiful. I love it. I love how Keyshia keeps it minimal and classic, letting the beauty of raw emotion take centre stage. Love the special effects treatments, very on-trend and very tastefully executed. Ugh! I'm going to need your faves to take notes!

The Next Time (Won’t Give My Heart Away) clip serves as the second to be lifted from Keyshia Cole’s sixth studio album 'Point Of No Return'. The visual for the set's first offering 'Rick James (ft. Juicy J)' arrived last week.

NEW VIDEO: Estelle - Make Her Say (Beat It Up)

Posted on 8:57 PM by Unknown

Check out Estelle's brand new music video for her song, Make Her Say. Watch below!

34-year-old singer/songwriter Estelle has released the visuals for latest single, Make Her Say (Beat It Up). We see several different, "perfectly imperfect" couples get steamy in a very provocative clip. Even Estelle herself gets amongst all the bumping and grinding.

'Make Her Say (Beat It Up)' is lifted off Estelle's EP Love & Happiness: How Stella Got Her Groove Back.

Interesting video. I see how she's challenging the stereotypes of beauty by casting everyday couples. But whatever it is, I'm feeling that poncho-top. Shout out to Laurel DeWitt!

NEW VIDEO: Tyga - Senile ft. Nicki Minaj & Lil' Wayne

Posted on 11:44 AM by Unknown

Here's the brand new music video for Young Money's 'Senile'. Watch below!

Tyga, Nicki Minaj, and Lil Wayne release a vibrant video for their YMCMB collaborative track "Senile," the latest release off their compilation Rise of an Empire.

Tyga serves his verse as the JabbaWockeeZ perform behind him. He also smokes the hookah with some random hippies. Nicki is a chola acting gangsta, complete with goons and a barbie tattoo on the playground. Lil Wayne is pretty much himself as he plays family in a crazy household.

This video reminds me of Bloodhound Gang for some reason.

NEW VIDEO: Smashproof - Survivors ft. Pieter T

Posted on 6:16 PM by Unknown

Check out this brand new music video for Smashproof's song, Survivors featuring Pieter T. Watch below!

The NZ rap trio pair their inspiring anthem with a visual that has a very encouraging message. Tyree, Deach, and Sid address the pressures of youth. Touching on peer pressure, bullying, and paedophilia with different young characters, and how each is affected differently. Directed by Chris Graham.

Such a powerful message. It's great watching these guys come out with great tracks to party to, but at the same time always bringing something to the table that encourages and inspires. Pieter T's vocals on this track with the melody is EVERYTHING! One of my fave singles of theirs to date.

Survivors is the latest offering from Smashproof's album, Forever.

NEW MUSIC: Jennifer Hudson - Walk It Out ft. Timbaland - LISTEN NOW!

Posted on 3:51 PM by Unknown

Jennifer Hudson has dropped audio to a brand new song entitled, Walk It Out featuring Timbaland. Listen below!

The 32-year-old American Idol-alum is showing us a more sexier side to herself, with her image and her sound. The Oscar-winning songtress links up with producer Timbaland and singer/songwriter Lyrica Anderson for this feel good jam, Walk It Out.

“F**k it, let’s do this today…I know you want to, take me to your room…,” she sings.

Yass Jennifer. Love this song. The production is everything. It has that signature 90's Timbaland beat but with a more 2014/15 contemporary feel. Hudson's vocals are on point, not a wasted vocal in sight. I'm really feeling the sound of this track. Looking forward to more.

NEW VIDEO: Alicia Keys - It's On Again ft. Kendrick Lamar

Posted on 3:09 PM by Unknown

Check out the brand new music video for Alicia Keys' musical contribution to the The Amazing Spider-Man 2 film, It's On Again featuring Kendrick Lamar.

The visual sees Alicia, Kendrick, and the tracks producer Pharrell play some sort of super-team. Pharrell is the brains and manages to turn all of the city's lights into a synchronized light show. The trio meet up with orchestra conductor Hans Zimmer in the end, and rock out in the middle of some park.

This music video is so random. They should have just stuck to a performance heavy clip, with the added flash shots of scenes from the film. Kendrick's verse is such a waste. It should have been placed somewhere just before the bridge so Alicia had something to build up to. Or replace Alicia entirely. Just, forgettable really.

What do you think?

VH1 has released a four minute look into the upcoming season of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta. We see new additions to the cast, as well as some well scripted, but poorly executed, usual messiness. Seems as though Stevie J and Joseline got themselves a mansion to match their brand new teeth. And it looks like Karlie Redd is failing at attempts to lock Yung Joc and his fishy smellin' peen. #GirlBYE!

It's a whole lot of mess and ratchetness and I am here for all of it. LOL! Are you?

NEW VIDEO: Keyshia Cole - Rick James ft. Juicy J

Posted on 8:37 AM by Unknown

Check out Keyshia Cole's brand new music video for her song, Rick James featuring Juicy J.

The visuals from the recently single singer pretty much plays out why she left her husband, Daniel Gibson.

We see the 32-year-old mother of one gather her girls in flash shots as she performs to the camera. On their bikes, Keyshia and her girls ride the streets in the dark as they head to the house where her soon-to-be-ex man is believed to be in bed with another woman.

The music video is pretty forgettable. Nothing too important. But that seems to be the theme with most music video's today. As long as it looks pretty, It's OK. Keyshia Cole looks amazing in the video. I see her new shoe line is on display. I still don't feel anything for this song, but I can't wait for the music video for 'Next Time'. That is my jam!

Beyoncé Covers 'Out' Magazine, Talks Sexual Liberation, & Double Standards!

Posted on 11:24 AM by Unknown

Beyonce snatches her first Magazine cover of 2014, landing firmly on the 'Power' issue of Out, May 2014.

The 32-year-old entertainer appears in a Marilyn Monroe-esque black and white spread for Out's May 2014 Power issue photographed by Santiago & Mauricio and styled by Lysa Cooper. Apart from looking unfathomably flawless, King Bey has some important things to say about sexual liberation and double standards in the music industry.

"I’d like to believe that my music opened up that conversation," she says when asked about creating her most sexually liberated album to date. "There is unbelievable power in ownership, and women should own their sexuality. There is a double standard when it comes to sexuality that still persists. Men are free and women are not. That is crazy. The old lessons of submissiveness and fragility made us victims. Women are so much more than that. You can be a businesswoman, a mother, an artist, and a feminist—whatever you want to be—and still be a sexual being. It’s not mutually exclusive."

"While I am definitely conscious of all the different types of people who listen to my music, I really set out to make the most personal, honest, and best album I could make," she told Out. "I needed to free myself from the pressures and expectations of what I thought I should say or be, and just speak from the heart. Being that I am a woman in a male-dominated society, the feminist mentality rang true to me and became a way to personalize that struggle."

A LQ Snippet of Lady Gaga's 'Do What U Want' Video Has Leaked - WATCH NOW!

Posted on 11:38 PM by Unknown

A low quality snippet of Lady Gaga's 'Do What U Want' music video has surfaced online and we have it here for your viewing pleasure.

With her G.U.Y. music video dropping just weeks ago, It's interesting that anything visual would leak from the Haus of Gaga. Nonetheless a snippet of the highly anticipated and long drawn out wait that is the visual of the R. Kelly assisted track. Really, anything that would take away from the 28-year-old's current release.

The internet is buzzing with this 30 second clip which has snuck up online and here's your chance to take a peek before it gets removed.

We see Gaga in a black seemingly-crocheted dress, serving as she touches herself. We also see flash shots of her vulnerable in a bath tub. And we also see mother monster seductively laying in a heap of newspapers with the headline, "Gaga Bares It All" in the background.

I wonder If we will ever see this in full. Probably will since this has leaked. I hope so. Looks amazing as per Gaga-usual.

NEW MUSIC: Keyshia Cole - I'm Coming Out ft. Iggy Azalea

Posted on 4:40 PM by Unknown
Check out a new track from Keyshia Cole. I think you're gonna like this one!

Keyshia Cole's musical contribution to the upcoming film The Other Woman has surfaced online. The track is the 32-year-old singers take on The Notorious B.I.G.’s “Mo’ Money, Mo’ Problems,” which samples Diana Ross' 1980 Motown classic, I'm coming Out. This time adding more to the feminine fierceness, kicking off with a verse from Iggy Azalea.

Loving the first half of the track. Iggy set the bar high with the way she sets it off in the beginning. I just wished Keyshia could've kept up. After two lines from Keyshia's second verse, I was over it. The second verse should've been scrapped for a second verse from Iggy, then taken straight to the bridge.

What do you think?

NEW MUSIC: Avril Lavigne - Breakaway (Kelly Clarkson Demo)

Posted on 4:01 PM by Unknown

Check out Kelly Clarkson's 2004 hit Breakaway sung by Avril Lavigne. Listen below!

The demo for Kelly Clarkson's '04 single Breakaway has made its way online and we've got it here for your listening pleasure. The original is sung by a young Avril Lavigne, who co-wrote and recorded the track in one of her debut album sessions. Subsequently the track didn't make the final cut, so then it was passed on to several different artists before finally being recorded by Kelly Clarkson.

Avril's subtle approach to the ballad is refreshing, even though she has been quoted as saying that the demo was "rough". It isn't as grand as the Kelly Clarkson version, but it still has a lot of substance to it.

Lorde Covers 'Fashion' Magazine, Talks Influences, Stereotypes, & Youth of Today!

Posted on 2:07 PM by Unknown

Check out our very own Lorde on the cover of the latest issue of Fashion magazine.

The 17-year-old NZ phenomenon glitters pretty in a Dolce & Gabana long-sleeved dress for Fashion magazine May 2014. Inside she talks about Author Tobias Wolff being once of her biggest influences. She shares on the industry stereotypes, and expresses her thoughts on the youth of today.

On Tobias Wolff being one of her biggest influences:
Author Tobias Wolff is my hero. In terms of creating perfectly formed sentences and paragraphs and paying attention to word selection—Tobias Wolf is awesome. He’s been writing short fiction a long time but I read a collection called The Night In Question that blew me away.

On industry stereotypes:
I’m drawn to women who aren’t painted in history as sweet figures. Patti Smith was prickly. She was frustrated. She didn’t take people’s sh*t. There’s no better music idol for young women, because there is a lot of pressure for us to be really positive all the time. Every photo shoot I do, I get asked for big smiles, and I shouldn’t have to be that way.

On youth today:
I think young people have changed the way we view pop culture…we now have this discerning power. We all have Tumblers, we curate imagery every day. We can sniff out bullsh*t faster.
