Earlier this week, Madonna was invited to the New York Film Festival premiere of Steve McQueen’s film 12 Years a Slave. And as the movie began, Madge was seen texting. Anyone who knows about the world famous Alamo Drafthouse Cinema movie theatre knows about their zero-tolerance policy regarding texting during movies.
An audience member was then seen asking the queen-of-pop to stop texting to which she replied, “It’s for business… enslaver!”

Madonna was feisty at the New York Film Festival premiere of Steve McQueen’s acclaimed “12 Years a Slave.”Upon hearing of Madonna’s poor etiquette, Tim League, founder of the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, took to Twitter to declare that the singer would be banned from setting foot inside any of the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema locations until she issues a formal apology.
A spy said that as the movie began, “a blonde in black lace gloves wouldn’t stop texting,” seated in a row with Jason Ritter, J. Alexander and Michael K. Williams.
Finally, an audience member asked the blonde to stop, and the gloved one shot back: “It’s for business . . . enslaver!” During a roaring standing ovation, the blonde ducked out, and, “Sure enough, in black lace gloves, was Madonna!”
But it seems that the Material Girl was a fan of the film. Another spy said that as the credits rolled and she tried to swiftly make a dash from the theatre, Madonna heard director McQueen’s voice as he began a Q&A. She was overheard saying, “‘I want to hear Steve speak,’ then rushed back in for the Q&A,” the source said.
Until she apologizes to movie fans, Madonna is banned from watching movies @drafthouse. http://t.co/cHMeseJxMJ
