Selena Gomez addressed criticism from singer Lorde in a recent interview. Watch below!
A while back, Lorde made headlines with comments she made about Selena's song 'Come And Get It'. “I love pop music on a sonic level,” Lorde admits in an interview with Rob Tannenbaum. “But I’m a feminist and the theme of her song ["Come & Get It"] is, ‘When you’re ready come and get it from me.’ I’m sick of women being portrayed this way.”
In a recent interview Selena was asked a question about criticism, mainly the comments made by Lorde, to which she answered, “I appreciate everyone’s opinions, especially since I’ve covered her music lots of times. I think she’s super talented and that’s awesome. But the same time, feminism and that specific thing is very sensitive because in my opinion it’s not feminism if you are tearing down other artists. But she’s young and she’s got so much talented and she’s going to take over. She gets it. I don’t take it to heart. Trust me I thought I knew what I would be doing at 21 and I’m not.”
