Selena Gomez continues to address comments from NZ Billboard chart topper, Lorde. READ on!
For the latest Flaunt magazine issue, Selena Gomez features in some very daring and dark photographs. Opting for a short shaggy-do, replacing her long signature locks.
In the interview portion of her feature, Selena is asked about Lorde's comments yet again to where she responds, "That’s not feminism. [Lorde is] not supporting other women. That’s my honest opinion, that’s what I would say to her if I saw her. I actually covered her song in all of my shows that I’ve done so far. I’m not sure if I’m going to continue that."
Selena girl, Bye! To quote Lorde when asked about Ms Gomez's ‘Come & Get it’ song, "I'm a feminist, and the theme of her song is, 'When you're ready come and get it from me.' I'm sick of women being portrayed this way." Is she lying? No!
"I think there’s a funny culture in music that’s only happened over the last 15 years, that if you have an opinion about something in music that isn’t 100-percent good, you’re a ‘hater,’ even if you have perfectly reasonable grounds for that critique,” she said. “People will say exactly what they think about a movie or a TV show, and that’s fine, but as soon as you say it about a record, you’re like some little zombie in a funny dungeon."
Couldn't have said it better myself. I'm glad Lorde is standing firm in her word. Something these basic pop-stars should learn about. American anyway.
